VOLVO B10M MK I - 7457

Delivered on September 24, 1984, 7457 was the 50th Volvo bus delivered to Westbus, and features a Custom Coaches Euro II body on a B10M Mk I chassis. 7457 was decorated in special signwriting to advertise the fact, and Westbus would go on to operate a fleet of over 160 Volvo B10Ms.

Entering service 7457 was allocated to Westbus' Northmead Depot, where it operated services in the Parramatta and Hills areas. The region later being incorporated into the contract of Hillsbus.

From mid-2008 7457, now painted in the ComfortDelgro Cabcharge (CDC) canary yellow livery, was allocated to the 'loan' fleet and was subsequently allocated to the following depots: Westbus Penrith, Westbus Girraween, Westbus Bonyrigg, Westbus Seven Hills, Hunter Valley Buses Thornton.

In February, 2013, the bus was deregistered after spending its final months as a school bus in the Hunter Valley. In August of the same year, CDC donated the bus to the Museum for preservation.

A small but dedicated band of volunteers commenced restoring the bus, with assistance from Volvo Bus Australia and Custom Coaches. 7457 was resprayed into its original Westbus livery and has been once again signwritten as the 50th Volvo for Westbus, to represent its  'as-delivered' condition.

The exhibit was unveiled in May, 2015, and has remained an operational exhibit.
